Lisa Yen introduced MyScope, Microscopy Australia’s interactive online training platform, which offers a wide range of educational modules in microscopy. MyScope offers online, interactive microscopy training, providing a virtual space where users can develop practical skills in microscopy techniques such as light microscopy, TEM, and cryo-EM. This training is vital in building the next generation of researchers, particularly as it provides access to high-level training without the need for costly, physical instruments​.

A crucial part of the foundingGIDE project is ensuring that research data from different sources can be interoperable. MyScope’s Research Data Management (RDM) module, is particularly aligned with this goal. This module educates researchers on best practices for managing, organizing, and sharing data across platforms and institutions, which is essential for improving data interoperability and promoting collaboration.
