foundingGIDE represented at India BioImaging Community Meeting
On December 12-13, 2024, the India BioImaging (IBI) community meeting was held at Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune in collaboration with Global BioImaging (GBI) and EMBL, Germany. This meeting brought together facility managers, imaging scientists, and decision-makers from across India to strengthen the country’s bioimaging infrastructure and foster collaboration.

foundingGIDE was represented at this community meeting by Aastha Mathur and Shuichi Onami, highlighting our commitment to advancing interoperability and fostering global collaborations in bioimaging.
The IBI meeting focused on:
- Enhancing microscopy training programs.
- Supporting advanced training for facility staff.
- Addressing challenges in image data storage and analysis.
- Exploring avenues for expanding access to imaging facilities across India.
foundingGIDE’s participation provided a valuable opportunity to share our vision of promoting interoperability in biological and preclinical imaging data. Discussions centered on how global initiatives like foundingGIDE can support IBI’s objectives, particularly in addressing challenges around data sharing, harmonization, and infrastructure development.

The meeting served as a platform to exchange ideas and identify synergies between national and international efforts in bioimaging. It was an excellent opportunity to explore collaborative pathways and align strategies for a more interconnected and innovative future in imaging science.
