The mission to enhance image data interoperability is evolving into a thriving collaborative effort with two major events just around the corner: first foundingGIDE Community Event and first foundingGIDE BioImage Hackathon coupled to workshops on OMERO and ilastik.

foundingGIDE Community Event will be held back-to-back with the Global BioImaging Exchange of Experience and will be followed by the foundingGIDE BioImage Hackathon and two workshops. More details below and on our website.

GBI EoE precedes the foundingGIDE Community Event at the same location in Okazaki, Japan. This event is focused on practical insights into effectively managing image data.

foundingGIDE Workshops

In parallel to the foundingGIDE BioImage Hackathon and together with the Onami lab at RIKEN Kobe Campus, there will be two workshops:

Workshop on OMERO setup and configuration for imaging facility managers, led by Petr Walczysko and Jean-Marie Burel from Open Microscopy Environment. This workshop will guide participants through the complete setup of OMERO on local or cloud infrastructure, and provide best practices for configuring OMERO for optimal performance. More information here. 

Workshop on ilastik, a machine-learning-based image analysis tool, led by Dominik Kutra, Senior Research Software Engineer in the Kreshuk Group at EMBL, Heidelberg, Germany. In this course, participants will learn how to perform automated pixel- and object-level segmentation, object classification, and tracking. More information here.
