foundingGIDE at Euro-BioImaging Image Data Community Days 2026
From April 13–17, 2026, Euro-BioImaging will host the second edition of the Image Data Community Days, a global online event dedicated to advancing image data practices across the life sciences.

A week dedicated to image data
The Image Data Community Days 2026 will take place entirely online, offering five days of interactive sessions, including lectures, hands-on workshops, and networking opportunities.
Participants can expect a diverse programme covering key topics such as:
- Image data analysis and workflows
- Preclinical and medical imaging data
- FAIR data principles and lifecycle approaches
- File formats and interoperability
- Community-driven initiatives and emerging solutions
The event will also showcase foundingGIDE project as part of the Building interoperable frameworks with file formats and metadata session on Wednesday, 15.04.2026, 9:00-12:00 CEST. This session explores how community‑driven Next‑Generation File Formats (NGFF) and evolving metadata standards are improving the way bioimaging data is shared, accessed, and reused. Building on these advances, the foundingGIDE project illustrates how coordinated infrastructure efforts can apply these developments to create more interoperable and sustainable bioimaging research environments with talks from Francois Sherwood from BioImage Archive and Damien Goutte-Gattat from German BioImaging.
In the Preclinical & medical imaging tools for data management and analysis session on Thursday, 16.04.2026, 9:00-12:00 CEST you will hear from the Ryan Sullivan from University of Sydney on the Australian Imaging Services, one of the foundingGIDE project partners.
