International Data Week 2025

October 13 @ 08:00 October 16 @ 17:00 AEST

International Data Week 2025

IDW takes place every two years and is the leading international conference on research data. It is jointly organised by the International Science Council’s Committee on Data (CODATA) and World Data System (WDS), and the Research Data Alliance (RDA).

IDW combines the RDA Plenary Meeting, the biannual meeting of this international member organisation working to develop and support global infrastructure facilitating data sharing and reuse, with SciDataCon, the scientific conference addressing the frontiers of data in research organised by CODATA and WDS. The Australian Research Data Commons is hosting the conference for the first time in Australia.

The International Data Week (IDW) is held every two years and it is jointly organised by the International Science Council’s Committee on Data (CODATA), the World Data System (WDS), and the Research Data Alliance (RDA).

IDW brings together the RDA Plenary Meeting—an international gathering focused on building and sustaining the global infrastructure for data sharing and reuse—and SciDataCon, a scientific conference exploring the cutting edge of data in research, co-organised by CODATA and WDS. This year marks the first time the event is being hosted in Australia, thanks to the Australian Research Data Commons.

The program includes inspiring keynote lectures, dynamic workshops, and interactive sessions led by both established leaders and emerging voices in the field.
